Language Department
In 2010 the school opened a refitted language laboratory. Equipped with the highest specifications of IT equipment, this facility brings language education at Drimnagh Castle to the fore. At individual workstations; students of French and Spanish use the 'Tell Me More' package to engage in a variety of interactive computer based assignments, games and projects. These lessons are used to complement their traditional language lessons in the classroom. In this environment students are allowed to work at their own pace under the guidance of their teacher, who can montior their progress using the server installed. This multisensory approach to language education allows students to take part in written, oral and aural activities resulting in their greater engagement and retention of the subject matter.
Using the internet, classes can be twinned with other schools. Using voice chat over the internet allows students to have converstions with other students studying English or to virtually share the same classroom online.
